What Morpheus8 treats

Morpheus8 is fractional radiofrequency microneedling that remodels the structural layer of the skin rather than resurfacing the top of it. One device, adjusted by depth and energy, treats all of these.

Depth tailored to every part of your face.

Shallower over thin skin around the eyes, deeper along the jaw and neck, within the same session.

Depth, explained

How Does Morpheus 8 Work?

Morpheus8 combines fractional micro pins with radiofrequency heat, reaching up to 4mm below the surface. Choose an area to see where it is used and what happens beneath the skin.

Choose an area to explore

Around the eyes

Depth is adjustable across the treatment. Regents Park Aesthetics works shallower over thin skin around the eyes, within the same session as deeper work along the jaw.

Cheek: pitted acne scarring

Morpheus8 reaches pitted acne scarring that sits deeper than surface treatments go. The pins create controlled micro-injuries in the deep dermis while delivering radiofrequency heat, and the healing response produces new collagen and elastin.

Jawline

The tissue that holds facial contour sits deeper, in the lower dermis and the fat layer beneath it. Reaching 4mm means Morpheus8 is treating the structure itself.

Jowls

Reaching 4mm is why Morpheus8 is used for jowls rather than only for skin quality. Where significant sagging would be better served by surgery, your clinician says so at the consultation and points you to the right door.

Under the chin

Radiofrequency at depth can reduce fat, which is exactly the aim on a double chin. Facial volume is assessed before depth is set, so slimmer faces keep their softness.

Abdomen

Loose, crepey skin across the stomach after weight change or having a baby, where the laxity sits in the skin rather than the muscle wall. Separated abdominal muscle is a job for a surgeon, and your clinician checks for it before you book. Body areas take a little longer than the face because the skin is thicker.

Flanks

Softness above the waistband that diet and exercise do not shift when the cause is skin laxity rather than volume.

Upper arms

Crepey inner-arm skin that shows when the arm is lifted. A course can firm mild to moderate laxity, with no incisions.

Inner thighs

Thin skin that creases and shifts on movement. Treated gently across a course for firmness and texture.

Knees

The pleats that gather above the kneecap with age or after weight loss.

Lower dermis and the fat layer beneath it

Reaching 4mm means Morpheus8 is treating the structure itself. That is why it is used for jowls and submental fullness rather than only for skin quality.

The pins create controlled micro-injuries in the deep dermis while the heat contracts existing collagen immediately and builds new collagen and elastin over the months that follow. Tissue is remodelled rather than resurfaced, and depth is the whole story: it is what separates a contour change from a surface polish.

Depth is adjustable across the treatment and set to your tissue at assessment. The positions shown are illustrative, not a treatment plan.

Epidermis
The surface, where texture and tone sit. The structure that holds a jawline lies deeper.
Upper dermis: the first millimetre or two
Most skin-tightening devices work here. That is the perfect layer for texture and fine lines, and a jawline asks for more depth.
Mid dermis
Still within the range other devices reach. Collagen here improves skin quality beautifully, and the contour of the face is held deeper still.
Lower dermis
The tissue that holds facial contour begins here, in the lower dermis and the fat layer beneath it. Few devices reach this far.
Lower dermis and the fat layer beneath it
Reaching 4mm means Morpheus8 is treating the structure itself. That is why it is used for jowls and submental fullness rather than only for skin quality.

Some treatments do the same job a different way. Others do a different job alongside it. The right combination depends on your tissue and what you are treating; a consultation settles it.

Questions patients ask

Frequently asked questions

From £500 for a small area such as eyes, neck or chest. Face and neck is £800, as is a body area such as the abdomen. Most people have three sessions, so budget the course. We quote the full plan at consultation.

Three for most people, spaced four to six weeks apart. Deeper acne scarring or significant laxity can need four to six. Body areas need three at minimum because the skin is thicker.

Twelve to eighteen months for most people. Many patients have one maintenance session a year to hold the result rather than repeating the full course.

Morpheus 8 is a brand of radiofrequency microneedling. Every Morpheus 8 treatment is RF microneedling, but not the reverse. What separates it is depth. Most RF microneedling devices reach 2 to 3mm; Morpheus 8 reaches 4mm, which is why it can address contour rather than only skin quality. If your goal is skin quality alone, standalone microneedling is the gentler and cheaper route.

Both tighten by different routes. Ultraformer HIFU uses focused ultrasound at fixed depths with no downtime. Morpheus 8 uses radiofrequency with micro pins, treats skin quality and contour together, and has two to three days of redness. Regents Park Aesthetics offers both in London, and your clinician recommends the one that suits your tissue.

Morpheus 8 remodels structure, so it pairs naturally with treatments that work on skin quality or volume. Profhilo and polynucleotides support hydration and skin health between sessions, PRP supports healing and response, and on the body EMSCULPT Neo addresses the muscle layer that radiofrequency does not reach. For surface resurfacing beyond what micro pins do, CO2 laser is the comparison we make at consultation.

Topical anaesthetic is applied for thirty minutes beforehand, which handles most of it. You will feel warmth and pressure, and the jawline and forehead are the sharper areas. It is uncomfortable rather than painful.

For laxity, jawline softening and scarring, yes, often: it reaches deeper than skincare can. Significant sagging can be better served by surgery, and a double chin that is mostly fat by another route, and your clinician will tell you which you have.

Forty eight hours, which gives the micro channels time to close and keeps the skin calm.

Wait twelve hours, then use lukewarm water and a plain non-foaming cleanser with clean hands. Skip hot water, flannels and any exfoliating cleanser for a week.

Twenty four hours, using a clean brush or fingers rather than an old sponge. Mineral makeup is kinder to recovering skin than a heavy liquid base.

Seven days. Retinol, vitamin C, AHAs and BHAs all go back in gradually after that, one product at a time rather than everything at once.

Yes, and it helps. In the first week we encourage very little. A plain hyaluronic serum with no fragrance or actives, a bland moisturiser and mineral SPF.

Leave it forty eight hours. Alcohol dehydrates and dilates blood vessels, which prolongs the redness and swelling.

With mineral SPF 50, and in the shade where you can. Treated skin is extra sensitive to the sun for several weeks, so protecting it keeps your result even and bright.

It suits deeper skin tones well, because radiofrequency does not target melanin. Regents Park Aesthetics patch tests and starts gently where needed, and careful sun protection afterwards keeps the result even.

Radiofrequency at depth can reduce fat in the treated area, which is exactly the aim on a double chin. Your clinician assesses facial fat before setting depth, so slimmer faces keep their softness.

Under the eyes, yes, at a shallower setting with a protective shield in place. The eyelid itself is left untreated.

Yes, with a gap. Regents Park Aesthetics leaves at least two weeks after filler, and preferably four, because radiofrequency heat can affect some filler products. Tell us what you have had and when.

Some tightening, yes, from immediate collagen contraction. The meaningful change comes from new collagen building over three to six months, so a single session is a start rather than a course.
